Ingredients
Scale
Noodles
- 2 packs instant ramen noodles (discard seasoning packets)
Sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 cup water (reserved from noodle pot)
For Cooking and Garnish
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 green onion, sliced
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- Cook Noodles: Boil the ramen noodles according to the package instructions, but discard the seasoning packets. Reserve about 1/4 cup of the cooking water before draining the noodles. Set the noodles aside.
- Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic powder, ground ginger, and the reserved noodle water until smooth and well combined.
- Cook Noodles with Sauce: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium heat. Add the cooked noodles, then pour the prepared sauce over them. Toss the noodles to coat evenly and cook for 1–2 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken slightly and cling to the noodles.
- Add Finishing Touches: Stir in sliced green onions and red pepper flakes if using. Cook for an additional 30 seconds to combine flavors.
- Serve: Transfer the saucy ramen noodles to serving bowls and garnish with sesame seeds. Serve hot and enjoy your flavorful meal.
Notes
- Add sautéed vegetables, a fried egg, or leftover chicken for a heartier meal.
- You can double the sauce amount for extra flavor if increasing the noodle quantity.
